Pavarotti was a bit of a one trick pony. He was paraded about for his ability to produce the exact same performance every time. Every recording of his Nessun Dorma sounds identical, while Domingo’s had a richer, fuller sound in my opinion. Domingo was robbed of renown outside the opera scene by being born earlier than Pavarotti.
